Welcome to the Home of Pack 883

We are chartered by the Lord of Life Lutheran Church and serve as the Cub Scout home for boys and girls in The Woodlands.
Pack 883 is a family pack, inclusive of boys and girls grades kindergarten through fifth grade.  Many of our scouts attend David Elementary and Sally K. Ride Elementary.
We meet usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month for our pack meetings and each den sets up it's own schedule for den meetings.

COVID Notes:
The church is allowing in-person meetings again inside and each den is free to meet in whatever way the den feels comfortable. Please follow social distancing guidelines at all times.
Pack meetings and pack events are still being adjusted to follow social distancing, please reach out to your den leader or pack leader for further details.

Cub Scouts is a year-round program that offers fun activities that promote character and leadership development. Our program is designed to be hands-on, and parents are encouraged to play an active role in our programs.

Pack 883 embraces the outdoors through camping and hiking. We also focus on helping our communities through service projects, STEM development and building confident kids through our wide range of activities. The Cub Scout program is designed to develop physical, mental and emotional fitness. Fitness includes the body (well-tuned and healthy), the mind (able to think and solve problems), and the emotions (self-control, courage, and self-respect).
Starting in 2018, families can choose to sign up their sons and daughters for Cub Scouts, ages 5-10 (typically grade kindergarten through fifth grade). The two new programs for Cub Scouts are the addition of girl dens as well as kindergarten age.  Because this is a new development in the program for scouts, Pack 883 is actively engaging in efforts to establish dens (groups of scouts at the same grade level with 8-12 scouts per den) for boys and girls.  Cub Scout dens will be single gender — all boys or all girls.

The Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) decision to welcome girls into the Cub Scout program comes from input BSA received from Scouting families, as well as prospective Scouting families. BSA programs provide character- and leadership-building experiences that give young people a solid foundation for their futures. We celebrate all youth-serving organizations that build character and feel the most important thing is to allow parents the ability to choose what program is best for their family.

Pack 883 is actively involved in implementing the family scouting program that is inclusive of boys and girls with the same goals, outreach, and achievements for both boys and girls. For more information about the family scouting program, visit:  scouting.org/familyscouting/
Pack 883 is a highly engaged group of boys and girls with ages represented from first to fifth grade.  We are excited about beginning the 2018 school year with the addition of dens for girls for kindergarten through fifth grade and adding the kindergarten den, the Lions!  Our Cubmaster, Marc Hoffland, and Committee Chair, Steve Powell, are actively engaged with the adult leadership of Pack 883 to make it a great experience for all our scouts.

Pack 883 routinely has one campout per semester for all ages, competitions with the Raingutter Regatta and Pinewood Derby, monthly Pack meetings with engagement from local volunteer presenters, and at least once-per-month den meetings for age-specific activities.  All of these activities build toward the scout's achievements in their age-specific journey toward advancement in Cub Scouts.
